Role Overview

We are looking for a Board Certified/Board Eligible General Surgeon to join an established private practice in the Cobb County area. This is an expansion role due to community growth. The ideal candidate will be comfortable with a broad range of general surgery, though there is a significant opportunity to grow a sub-specialty interest in Colorectal or Advanced Hernia for the right applicant.

Clinical & Technical Environment

• EMR System: AthenaHealth (Clinic) and Epic (Hospital).

• Surgical Tech: On-site access to dual Da Vinci Xi robots with dedicated block time.

• Procedure Mix: 60% Bread & Butter (Gallbladders, Hernias, Appys), 30% Robotics, 10% Endoscopy/Minor Procedures.

• Support Staff: You will be assigned a dedicated Lead Surgical Tech and a Full-Time Medical Assistant for clinic days.

Schedule & Operational Flow

• Shift Model: 4.5-day work week (Friday afternoons are dedicated admin/personal time).

• OR Days: 2.5 days per week; Clinic Days: 2 days per week.

• On-Call: 1:5 Private Practice call. No ER trauma call required (handled by hospitalists/trauma team).

• Patient Volume: 15–20 patients per clinic day; 4–6 cases per OR day.

Compensation & Growth

• Model: Collections-Based with a guaranteed base salary for the first 18 months.

• Ownership Track: Pathway to Partnership available after year two, including equity in the practice-owned outpatient surgery center.

• Relocation: Comprehensive relocation package provided.

• Benefits: 401(k) with 4% match, $4,000 annual CME allowance, and fully covered malpractice (occurrence-based).

Requirements

• MD or DO degree.

• Completion of a General Surgery Residency.

• Ability to obtain a Georgia State Medical License.
